Water treatment in construction
Watersystem collaborates with professionals
Thanks to collaboration with architects, engineers, building managers and contractors, Watersystem provides the appropriate combination of advanced water treatment products, technologies and engineering support.
We know that energy-saving buildings require selection of the right configuration of water treatment technologies and products. For this reason, we help architects and designers to choose the right solution by making a series of technical material available or by developing technical schematics and designs. Our specialized approach will also help to identify potential areas where water can be managed, including the use of alternative supply sources such as rainwater and grey water.
Whether you are a developer, user or contractor, Watersystem can add value to your project.
Protecting water against contamination
Water is typically supplied to buildings from the external water supply network, and in the case of hotels or single-family construction, also often from wells or from both sources at the same time. The quality of water supplied from water mains is regularly monitored and maintained by the supplier in accordance with binding regulations on physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters.
Unfortunately, in the case of water supply networks, secondary contamination of water with sediments deposited on the surface of pipes, corrosion from pipes, or elevated content of the chlorine used for disinfection is possible, deteriorating its useful value. This is a big problem, particularly in the case of multi-family residential buildings. Turbid and dirty water regrettably continues to be a rather common problem there. It typically intensifies during the morning and evening hours.
Modern technical appliances such as air humidifiers, washing machines, dishwashers, coffeemakers and electrical rotors are put to the test under such conditions. Individual protective filters provided with these appliances protect them against contamination. However, due to their relatively rapid wear, they require systematic replacement, which is often expensive.
A central water treatment plant is the best solution
It is only possible to eliminate these burdensome and undesirable phenomena through effective water treatment. A central treatment plant producing water for all social and living needs of users decidedly yields the best results. This solution makes it possible to adapt the installation to current needs, to reduce water consumption and improve its properties.
In every case, the choice of water treatment technology is directly connected to water composition and is made on an individual basis. WATERSYSTEM possesses a set of equipment making it possible to implement a complete water treatment cycle. Every implementation is typically preceded by a mesh filter protecting machines against impurities that may be included in water from supply pipes, such as: sand, tow, rust. Next, iron and manganese removal, softening and ultrafiltration are carried out.
Typical processes used in these facilities
- Mechanical filtration (reduction of mechanical impurities, protection of equipment and water systems);
- Water softening (reducing water hardness, protecting and extending the life of individual machines)
- Water disinfection (removal of dangerous bacteria and viruses from water);
- Hot water treatment (removing turbidity, corrosion and sediments in systems);
- Active carbon water filtration (reduction of chlorine, impurities, turbidity, odour or improvement of water taste);
- Removal of iron and manganese (elimination of undesirable colour and water flavour);
- Reverse osmosis (removing all kinds of impurities, production of ultrapure water in humidification or cooling systems)
- Rainwater management (reducing mains water consumption through the use of rainwater systems)
