MBR reactors

The technology of biological membrane reactors (MBR) is one of the most modern and dynamically developing of sewage treatment methods. As a result of the combination of the "traditional activated sludge process" with the membrane separation of treated sewage, the sewage treatment process provides amazing technological opportunities, both at the design and operation stage. The MBR technology is recognized as the best possible sewage treatment technology (BAT) - within the meaning of the IPPC Directive (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control).

BIOLOGICAL MEMBRANE REACTORS MBR

Membrane bioreactors are used in biological treatment of municipal and industrial sewage. MBRs are particularly suitable in the following cases:

  • constrained space available for the biological sewage treatment stage,
  • a high degree of sewage treatment is required, as well as recovery of water from sewage.

Advantages of membrane technologies:

  • savings, 50% or more, of the footprint required for biological treatment,
  • better quality of treated sewage compared to traditional methods,
  • very low operating costs due to short cyclical blowing of membranes every few minutes,
  • simultaneous filtration and removal of bacteria and viruses (Log 4-7),
  • long service life of membranes, simple and cost-effective module replacement,
  • modular system.
